I’m Baa-ack…
It's been a crazy month – and this past week has been horrible. I think this was the worst week I've had at work since I got my very first job ever… thank God it's Good Friday!
I'm going to add a list of My Favorite Things this weekend, but I wanted to go ahead and make special note of this…
The Discovery and the Discovery Health Channels are awesome! When I get my list posted you're going to think that I spent every free moment watching TV! I really don't, but if I'm going to spend time watching it, I want to watch smart, interesting TV, right? Well, these channels provide just that:
(Can you tell I'm a "Worst Case Scenario" thinker?!)
I was going to star my favorite shows, but all them would've had stars! I've even developed crushes on Jamie from Mythbusters, and the survival experts from the Science of Survival shows! Smart = Sexy!

WordPress adds 1 or 2 new themes every Friday and I’ve been hoping for one I’d just love… I’ve found it! Hope everyone likes the new theme!

Old Christine
Did anyone else watch the new CBS comedy The New Adventures of Old Christine?
It was actually kind of funny, in that mostly predictable way that most TV comedies are right now. I’ll watch it again and see how it goes…

Loofahs (Luffas?)
Apparently this word is spelled many different ways!
I've been searching online for various plants that I can grow in containers – since I can't plant anything in my little yard area – and one of my searches came up with coffee! Growing my own coffee intrigued me so I looked for a little more information and got distracted by MORE cool stuff to GROW!! Did you know that loofah sponges are part of the pumpkin family? And that you can grow your own sponges?! Unfortunately, I don't have the room necessary. I am going to try to talk my parents into letting me use part of their yard to try to grow some, though. We'll see how that turns out! This would be so great!
Here's a picture of the dried gourd (courtesy of NCSU):

I think it's the novelty that interests me so much. I mean, how many people do you know of who grow their own sponges? If you decide these interest you, too, try buying from LocalHarvest.org.
On a separate note, I mentioned my new craft area earlier (and I will post pictures soon!)…
Well, I have no creative spark right now! It might be this funk I've been in recently, but more likely it's that my craft area is Clean & Organized! I'll sit down at my table with an idea in mind – and have no idea where to start. Can't wait until I get over this….

Birthday Blahs

My big 3-0 birthday was Sunday – the main reason I haven’t posted in the last couple of days. I never get depressed when my birthday comes around, but I definitely feel it emotionally. It’s not even the number that gets to me. I guess I’m more likely to look back at my life when another year mark passes, and I still can’t forgive myself for my DP (or Depression Period). How stupid is that? I know it wasn’t (isn’t) my fault, but I started thinking about how much time I lost and how much time it’s taking to make it up! It seems to be creeping by in dog years! Does that even make sense? Yeah, I guess so – for each year I spent in my DP, it seems to be taking 7 years to catch up!!!
Good grief, I sound like I’m depressed now! I’m not really, just a little down about where I am in my life – in comparison to where I thought I would be. And really, doesn’t everyone get like that sometimes?
I try very hard to remember the lessons I learned during that DP and to remember that I wouldn’t be who I am right now without that time in my life. That helps keep me strong. After all, I kind of like who I am!
Anyway, I’ll be out of my funk by the end of this week – and then I’ll try to post some pictures of my brand new craft area! ‘Til then…
“Whenever someone sorrows, I do not say, “forget it,” or “it will pass,” or “it could be worse” — all of which deny the integrity of the painful experience. But I say, to the contrary, “It is worse than you may allow yourself to think. Delve into the depth. Stay with the feeling. Think of it as a precious source of knowledge and guidance. Then and only then will you be ready to face it and be transformed in the process.”
