Sheffield Mine

I don’t remember what channel * I saw this mine featured on, but I remember going to mines in NC and “mining” my own gemstones. It’s fun and relaxing – plus you get to go home with something special! I actually have a bucket of dirt to go through that I had bought when I went with a friend and her family. Good grief, that was in 9th grade! Too many years ago for me to count.
I am definitely going to go to the Sheffield Mine someday. Maybe someday soon. It’s not that far! If nothing else, I may go ahead and order a bucket or two for myself. Maybe I’ll have a Mining Party! That would be fun! Make simple sieves and tell everyone that, if they find anything, I’ll tumble their stones for them. I could have fun making invitations for that party – lots of sparkle!

*EDIT: Um, yeah… if I’d been paying closer attention, I’d have noticed that it says, right at the top of the main page and in big ol’ letters, “As Seen on the Travel Channel”!!
